For Clelia Baumgartner, art is a reference point. She resides in Vienna as an artist and studied in the Academy of applied Arts. During her academic years she spend a semester in the Geidai University of Arts and Music in Tokyo as an exchange student, a pivotal moment in her artistic development.
Through her art, Clelia invites us to an intimate dialogue with art, using performances, art installations, paintings and sculptures. Drawing inspiration from the process, she is continuing to explore new means for expression that challenge social constructs and manifest unknown spaces. Recurrent themes in her body of work revolve around identity, intimacy, transcultural processes and daily life.
Over the recent years her work has been presented in museum exhibitions, performance festivals and galleries in Austria, Italy, Japan, China and Ghana.
